Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) is Alberta’s new provincial assisted living agency established as a key pillar of the overall refocusing of Alberta’s health care system.
We are strengthening the province’s assisted living system to deliver the best integrated health care and social services for Albertans.
ALA strives to deliver care more effectively and consistently throughout the province, helping older adults, Albertans with disabilities, and vulnerable populations maintain their quality of life and independence, while supporting caregivers, family members, and friends.
Health care workers continue to be dedicated to delivering excellent health care to Albertans, and Albertans continue to have access to high-quality services and support.
ALA provides Albertans with the support they need through a comprehensive assisted living system, offering a full range of services, including medical and non-medical supports, continuing care homes, home care, community care, and social services.
Supports may include:
ALA is committed to ensuring that all Albertans can access the care they need, when and where they need it—regardless of age, diagnosis, or duration of need.
We work to improve care delivery across Alberta by enhancing home and community services, expediting spaces in supportive living and continuing care homes, and making sure Albertans and their caregivers are well-informed.
ALA collaborates closely with Acute Care Alberta, Primary Care Alberta, and Recovery Alberta to ensure smooth coordination between services, strengthening patient care, and reducing wait times for health care services across the province.
